Partnerships

The CEES engages in partnerships with select institutions inside and outside of the University of Zurich for collaboration on concrete long-term projects. The CEES is currently engaged in partnerships with four institutions:

Center for Security Studies (CSS), ETH Zurich

The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a strategic partner of the CEES. The two institutes work together on a number of topics and jointly organize events and publication series, including Russian Analytical Digest and Caucasus Analytical Digest.

Doctoral Programme Democracy Studies (UZH)

The Doctoral Programme Democracy Studies at UZH supports the study of diverse and multifaceted qualitative and quantitative approaches to the phenomenon of democracy and its manifestations. Each semester Democracy Studies organizes activities with a specific focus on the topic of democracy open to all CEES and UZH students and offers an integrated curriculum to graduate candidates aiming to acquire solid and transdisciplinary training with modules on the theory, methods, and empirical approaches to democracy.

Research Centre for East European Studies, University of Bremen

The CEES collaborates with the Research Center for East European Studies (FSO) at the University of Bremen on two English-language country studies (Russian Analytical Digest and Caucasus Analytical Digest).

Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES), George Washington University

The CEES cooperates with the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (IERES) at George Washington University, with which it co-edits the online magazine Russian Analytical Digest.

G2W Institute

Once a year, the CEES and the G2W Institute’s Ecumenical Forum for Faith, Religion and Society in East and West jointly organize a public event on current developments in Eastern Europe at the University of Zurich.
